Job Title: Climbing Team Coach (Part-Time)
About Us
Hoosier Heights is an indoor climbing gym in Carmel, Indiana. Our youth climbing team gives kids and teens a place to build strength, confidence, and friendships while chasing their personal best on the wall. We’re looking for a coach who loves climbing and loves helping young athletes grow.
Responsibilities include…
Running planned team practices focused on technique, movement, strength, and fitness
Giving clear, encouraging feedback to athletes at any level
Keeping athletes safe by enforcing gym safety rules and belay standards
Coaching athletes at competitions and help with registration and logistics
Modeling a welcoming team environment
Qualities We Look For In A Coach
A love for climbing and some experience with the sport. This position may not be suitable for a brand new climber!
Ability to communicate with children, parents, fellow coaches and head coach.
Reliable Schedule and Punctuality
Clean Background Check - Provided during the hiring process by Hoosier Heights
Availability on at least one day Monday through Thursday, after 5:00pm
Experience coaching, teaching, or mentoring youth (formal or informal)
Youth sport experience, in any sport
Knowledge of injury prevention and age-appropriate training for young athletes
